Too many tick*ts sold for the food, bar and games provisions. Terrible queues and many places sold out before the fireworks. Promised fire pits not in evidence - looked like they had to end those before 6pm due to the crowding/safety issue.

Poor quality, limited unhealthy food with few options for people with allergies. Bar had too few payment points and poor advertising about what was available. All fairground events were priced highly. The music from these rides was louder than the stage so couldn't hear the singer until at the end. There were no advertised fire pits or bonfire and the whole event was a much lower standard than I was expecting given the venue location. Too many tick*ts were sold and it was far too busy, with no seating. The fireworks themselves were good but were unannounced with no music. Overall disappointed but the kids had a good time.

Beyond disappointed. The fireworks were too late which meant we had to head home before they were on. So we basically paid to walk into a field and then spent £150 on 2 rides and dinner each for our nephews. Absolutely disgusted and definitely will not be going again. Although a different event we attended the Priory Summer Series earlier this year which was great, shame the firework event has put a downer on that for us too now.

Not as advertised and a lot of money for not a lot. The fireworks were ok, but certainly shouldn't be promoted as the 'official Hitchin Fireworks' suggesting they are going to be far better than average. One bar for 5000 people? Spent the entire time in there queueing..
2 rides to occupy people between 4pm and 8pm when fireworks scheduled, and even this changed in the run up from 9pm to 8:30pm to then 8pm (confirmed to me via email) only for the fireworks to start at 7.45pm and be over by 8! Won't be returning next year I'm afraid.

Far far too many people for the tiny space, really overpriced, queues for everything were horrendous, no countdown to the fireworks, couldn't hear the live music over the rides. First event at Hitchin Priory and what a total disappointment.

Major issue of there being no seats & very overcrowded. We couldn't even cope with it long enough to stay and watch the display. Definitely would NOT recommend this event

Completely over capacity for the size of venue, unable to move.
Queue systems for food and drink/rides were unmanageable, queues also were directly in am**gst the crowds so no clear view as to where to join. People made their own queues tailing off so people already queuing lost out and had to rejoin. Not enough to do given the duration the event was open and no where to just 'chill' in each other's company, no matter where you stand you're in the way. Event staff didn't know when the fireworks were starting and it wasn't stated.

I spent 2 hours waiting for food then I missed most of the fireworks and no one would help me as my son has autism and he did get scared was no security at all I'm fume ing

Rip off, nothing to do except hang around and wait for fireworks. Not nearly enough food trucks or bar, queues were ridiculous. No fire pits or sparklers. Music entertainment was lacking atmosphere despite the singer's best efforts.

The fireworks themselves were enjoyable. But my family and I had to watch from a queue for food and so our view was obstructed from lights from the food vans. The rest of our party were wiring for drinks and missed most of the display. Hopefully you can appreciate that once you have invested 50 minutes in queues for food and drink you don't want to forfeit your place! £6 for a can of beer is, quite frankly, taking the mick out of us. The noise from the fun fair rides was overbearing. A bonfire would have been more appropriate, but clearly not as lucrative. I was so pleased Hitchin was hosting fireworks again and was excited about the evening. Sadly, I left with a bitter taste in my mouth, not from the underwhelming pizzas, but from the commercial aspect of the whole affair. Also, I may have missed it in the literature but I didn't know what time the fireworks would be. I would have liked to have arrived at 7:30 which would have given me time to feed the family beforehand, rather than rushing down so we could get a parking space and not get stuck at the entrance, and could leave straight afterwards. It's a shame it's not a straightforward fireworks display that we can enjoy, but a money making exercise that means an evening spent in a queue. Sadly, I'll be back at Letchworth or Ickleford next year.

Greedy event- squeezed as many people into a small space, ridiculous queues at every food/drink stall and ride , fireworks weren't to music and bright lights from fairground rides left on. Definitely won't return next year. Really disappointed especially with how much the tick*ts cost.

Queuing for food and rides took way to long! When we got to the food they had pretty much nothing left.
Fireworks started early and lasted only 15mins. Getting out took so long. Won't be returning
