Review of Crooked House In The Park 2024
My review is based on going in 2024 and comparing with 2023.
2024 was pretty good overall, about 4 out of 5 and I would go again. I loved the production on the 3 main stages, although there were no lasers on the main stage this year. At the same event last year (Ministry of Sound / Crooked House), lasers were used. Loved So Solid Crew in the garage tent and most of the acts in the Crooked House (main) tent. Atmosphere overall was good, especially in the Miss Moneypenny's tent.
The food selection was decent and the beer on offer (Madri) was not bad, although last year we had Punk IPA offered at the same event. Prices were fair/average as far as club prices go in 2024.
The main downside for me, being visually impaired is that I couldn't see what each queue was for as I couldn't see any signposting. If memory serves, last year, each queue type was written on the bar tent's roof or front in big letters if it's a top-up queue, an activation queue or a bar itself. Once things go going though, the bar staff and stewards were all nice and they were trying their best out of a manic situation!
Another issue, again being visually impaired, is that Beacon Park is pitch black at night time outside of the gig enclosure. I struggled to find my way back onto Swan Road and had to get help. Some lighting would resolve this. This is both in 2023 and 2024.
The posh VIP loos had no running water, so I couldn't flush or wash my hands. Some of the standard loos did have hand sanitisers but some were run out.
On the Crooked House organisers themselves, I had a query which I posted their Facebook page, and they responded promptly so thanks :-)

Review of Crooked House In The Park 2024
I had a great time a few issues. Over priced drinks, toilets where horrible, under staffed on wristband load up and the bars. Couldn't hear general Levy as sound technician didn't have his microphone on loud enough. So solid crew where brilliant and Wilkinson smashed it.

toilets were in an absolute state only two hours in. far too few staff on the bar in the VIP area and only one food vendor this year. no ice or tonic on the bars - but you could get champagne?! also c**ktails were additional to the pre-loaded wristbands! felt overcrowded in some arenas, with far too much smoke/cannabis/vapes. disappointed and felt ripped off. we left 4 hours before the end.

Review of Crooked House In The Park 2024
Not what I was expecting. No order to anything such a getting drinks; using the toilets etc. no signs where to queue up. Was waiting ages to get our credit out on wristbands, with no movement, then to find out we had to join another queue, waiting and waiting. Then it was a totally different queue. Using the toilets, needs to be some sort of supervision for people waiting for toilets, maybe separate some for women and some for men, as I witnessed a man just open a door on a woman who wasn't very happy about it, invasion of her privacy. Needs to be some sort of order on the day.
As for the music, was good, but I wouldn't have been there all day and night. Drinks way too expensive. Would I go again.. probably not.

Review of Crooked House In The Park 2024
You expect prices to be expensive and the need to queue but this year was a disaster. Told to pre-pay wrist bands to avoid queues to then have to wait nearly 2 hours to have the bands loaded. £7.50 for a can of 50p cider, no free water as advertised and set times changed meaning people missed acts they wanted to see

Review of Crooked House In The Park 2024
My first time at crooked house and I paid for the VVIP ticket which turned out to be a waste of money. There were only 2 toilets in the VVIP area and they weren't cleaned during the event and ran out of toilet roll on several occasions. I pre ordered drinks for wristband and was under the impression that it would be applied to my wristband at the VVIP bar but their machines weren't working so we had to queue up for 45 minutes to get that sorted. I'll go again but I won't bother paying for premium tickets again.

Review of Crooked House In The Park 2024
Great event, well thought through. Having access to the VIP area/bar made all the difference. Music a bit too techno in the Crooked House tent at times, but had an awesome time. Fab crowd and security and the choice of food and drinks were great. Would definitely go again.
